Since the club was formed in 1985 members have enjoyed exchanges as hosts and ambassadors with clubs throughout the world.
The Friendship Force club of County Durham is run by a democratically elected committee made up of unpaid volunteers. These committee members may only claim reasonably incurred expenses. Accounts are presented each year at the AGM which is held at a local venue.
Membership fees are kept to a modest level to encourage everyone, from all walks of life, to take part. Some events require a small cover charge, if you attend or take part. Our aim is to ensure that we maintain sufficient funds to finance the club's operation.
The club has a programme of social activities which take the form of talks, slide shows, quizzes, coffee mornings, lunches , outings and weekend exchanges with other UK clubs. Details of club activities appear in the club newsletter sent to all members.
We are a very friendly group of people and invite anyone to come along to an event and introduce yourself.
